LeTort Regional Authority (LRA) Sponsor

(Carlisle, Pa.) Union Quarries of Carlisle demonstrated its strong commitment to the environment by renewing its sponsorship of the Letort Regional Authority (LRA). The nonprofit municipal organization protects the Letort Spring Run and its watershed, as well as the Letort Nature Trail.

The company’s sponsorship will enable the LRA to continue improving the 2-mile-long nature trail and monitoring the water quality of the Pennsylvania Exceptional Value limestone stream. Union Quarries has also donated materials and manpower to maintain the trail since it was developed in 1974.

“We greatly appreciate Union Quarries’ continued support,” said Andrew Parker, LRA chair. “Their generous donation will allow more Cumberland County families to explore the Letort Nature Trail and fish in the world-famous Letort Spring Run.”

“Our entire staff at Union Quarries believes in being responsible stewards of the environment,” said Chris Wright, Union Quarries president. “We are neighbors of the Letort Spring Run and Letort Nature Trail and are proud to help protect these two beautiful natural treasures for future generations.”
